Google has already used the technology of "People Finder to help people search for people feared lost in the earthquake and tsunami of Japanese.
Although Google is the dominant player in the Japanese market is in Europe and America, the company has developed tools to the disaster area shortly after the earthquake and tsunami in March. These include inducing users to upload photos of hand-written posters that were put in search of missing relatives, staff and other web users transcribed and used images to add to the main "People Finder" database of people missing. In total, more than 616,000 records accumulated.
Kei Kawai, a senior product manager at Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, is now leading a new draft of the affected area regularly. Although initial studies of Google Street View is too intrusive for the Japanese taste and therefore re-shot, the New York Times reported that the project is being enthusiastically received in Japan.
